Who is the mind behind Chrysalis Artist?
Deshaelyn Jones is a 24-year-old visual artist based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Working primarily in painting and drawing, she has been actively creating and exhibiting her art for over five years. Her work draws inspiration from deeply personal experiences and emotions, serving as a powerful outlet for self-expression.
A significant milestone in Deshaelyn’s career was her participation in a Juneteenth art exhibition. In 2021, which celebrated Black heritage and culture through visual storytelling. Influenced by the iconic Frida Kahlo, Deshaelyn channels raw emotion, strength, and vulnerability through her work, much like the artists she admires.
With a growing body of work and a distinct voice, Deshaelyn continues to explore the complexities of identity, emotion, and resilience through her art.
